Homemade Lemonade with a dash of lime & soda
Nothing beats a glass of chilled homemade lemonade on a hot summer’s day. This old-fashioned recipe still works a treat.
Makes 1 litre, Serves 6
Zest and juice of 6 lemons
150g/5oz granulated sugar
1 litre/1¾ boiling water
275ml/½ pt spring water
Place the lemon zest and juice in a large bowl with the sugar and boiling water. Stir well, cover and leave for 24 hours.
Strain through a fine sieve or a piece of muslin and pour into sterilised bottles. Cork, label and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Serve diluted with soda water and a twist of lime, lemon balm and mint.
